Career in brief:

Paul’s career started in the hospitality industry 18 years ago, when he trained in Hospitality Management at Westminster College London where Jamie Oliver trained. The following 5 years took him through many different aspects of hotels and conferencing management until he joined Forte & Le Meriden Hotels in 1997, based at their Central Offices in London. This was where he started to diversify slightly into contract and negotiation sales for the leisure side of the company. This gave him the opportunity to be responsible for international clients covering, Japan, the Far East, Middle East & towards the end of Forte, Scandinavia and parts of North America. This was an excellent opportunity to work closely with different cultures both in their own countries and in their expat environments here in the UK.

When Forte & Meridien were sold off in 2001 he firstly went with one of the internal brands called Heritage Hotels as UK Sales Manager for Travel Trade & UK Leisure, then to Macdonald as Head of Travel Trade, UK Leisure & Airline Sales. Within 2 months he had been head hunted by the De Vere Group Plc to do a similar role & take the brand international. It was at the same time that he had become highly interested in self development and training and took the first steps to changing his career for one that was more self rewarding, benefiting to others and in which he would continue to grow as a person. He completed a series of courses by an internationally recognised coach called Anthony Robbins and then joined & trained with the UK Coaching Academy to become qualified in the profession. Paul says:

"All through my working life I have focussed my main interest to provide the very best to my clients and those around me. I am passionate about my own personal and work development and focus on passing skills, support and knowledge to those I come into contact with where ever possible. I believe without doubt that as unique individuals we are born to be greater than we often dare to allow ourselves to believe.

When I am coaching or facilitating people, it is an opportunity to see others grow and engage in new areas or experiences. It is a privilege for me to be a part of that growth, however small.

In my personal life my partner and I explore the world whenever possible and continually look for opportunities to challenge our current beliefs, so that we can review and strengthen those in place or change them and adapt to new ones where relevant. I have just finished my course in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy. This has been one of the most insightful and rewarding experiences to date and I believe, a huge asset going forward to my career and personal life."
