Coverdale have taken a strategic decision to focus all effort on helping clients on an in-house basis only. Over the last few years we have seen a steady shift in the market where more and more clients are demanding tailor-made solutions to meet the specific needs of their businesses. In order to respond well to this need and so we can optimise the value we add we have taken the decision to cease running open courses.

Who's it for?
People who work with others and need to achieve high quality results. This course will develop your ability to:

• use an effective method of working so that you get things done
• define productive and clear aims and objectives, and how to achieve them
• generate common understanding with others
• work as part of a team and have confidence in your own skills
• identify and use the strengths and skills of others
• influence others
• present proposals positively
• effectively observe and support others
• develop active listening skills
• understand your own strengths and skills and how to use them to best effect

You will gain the confidence, skills and techniques to apply your learning productively back at work.

What's involved?
Working in a small group, you will build relationships and develop ways of working together through a series of complex tasks to achieve high quality results.A consultant will help you to review each task rigorously to develop a greater understanding of your own contributions and how you work with others.

This will help you build on your success, try out new ideas and develop skills and use these effectively on your return to work.

Applying the learning back at work is a key part of the course and you will have the opportunity to make and share your plans on how you will make this happen.

The programme
This four-day programme aims to deliver operative skills to get things done and co-operative skills to work together effectively.

Days one and two

• Introduction to A Systematic Approach to getting things done - a common language
• Forming a new group.
• Setting clear aims and standards.
• Developing tools and techniques to support effective teamwork.
• Reviewing to improve.
• Observation skills.
• Back at work application.

Days three four

• Generating and building on ideas.
• Active listening.
• Motivation and influencing skills.
• Giving and receiving detailed feedback on process and abilities.
• Application of learning to any team or group.
• Back at work application.

Delegates develop their new skills throughout the course by working on challenging practical tasks. They work initially in the same group to develop the skills and then have the opportunity to practice the skills in new groups, to simulate the complexity of real life situations.

Back at work support
This involves using and reviewing learning in the work situation and can include distance mentoring by a Coverdale consultant
