As a result of the split, the business was at a pivotal moment. Strategically, the need to equip newly promoted managers and more experienced leaders with relevant skills and behaviors to successfully lead individuals and teams was clear. Edgewell needed to deliver innovation and growth in a highly competitive FMCG environment, whilst fostering the right kind of culture across its global operations.

When Edgewell approached Coverdale they were looking for a partner to design and deliver Management and Leadership Development Programmes under the umbrella of their strategic Global Leadership Development Programme.Since 2016, Coverdale has designed and delivered two sequential programmes for Edgewell – the Manager and Leader Academies. Built on Coverdale’s practice of experiential learning, the over-arching aims of the Academies are to develop relevant skills through deliberate practice, whilst raising individual self-awareness and collective confidence. The programmes help participants develop a clear pathway for their own progress and the growth of the wider team. The in person and virtual programmes are run over multiple days by an international team of Coverdale Coaches in Edgewell locations around the globe – the USA, Mexico, Czech Republic, China, Germany, France and the UK.

Since 2016, Coverdale has had the privilege of helping 100’s of Edgewell leaders around the world develop their skills, build legitimate confidence and optimise their personal and team contributions to fulfilling Edgewell’s purpose – making useful things joyful. Now, many Academy graduates from previous cohorts are nominating their Managers to participate in the Academies – evidencing career progression and the fulfilment of personal aims. After working with Edgewell for the last eight years, the collective growth and continual raising of the bar for operational and relational excellence is clear to see. Growth – raising up – happens when people come together, aim high, positively contribute and value the contribution of others. We call this Human Flourishing.
